If the Big B went to schools to promote Paa and Aamir Khan travelled around the country incognito for 3 Idiots, Shah Rukh Khan does not plan to be left behind either for My Name is Khan scheduled for release on February 12.

Keeping in mind the reel theme about embarking on a journey to reclaim lost love, Shah Rukh Khan will be hosting road shows in Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Indore and New Delhi where the focus will be on real love stories. “SRK will meet people who have heart warming love stories to share. It is for the first time that any actor will have such interactive sessions with people,” said sources at Fox Star Studios. The finale for the best love story will be held in New Delhi on February 9.

Recently, King Khan doubled up as a wedding priest to actually remarry a happy couple, Ashok and Reena Vishwakarma, in Indore. “These shows will be telecast on the Star network and other channels as part of the promotion effort,” sources added.

According to brand experts, the marketing blitzkrieg for My Name is Khan is a classic case of integrating a film into every aspect of people’s lives. For instance, be it clothing, travel, furniture, sports and even DTH, there will be a part of the film involved.

To take an example, the movie has formed a marketing alliance with MakeMyTrip, for a range of tours which the travel portal has just launched for the US market. “The movie is all about making extraordinary and memorable journeys which we are always trying for our customers,” said Mr Mohit Gupta, Chief Marketing Officer, MakeMyTrip.
